P2 Induction

At the beginning of every year, Media Resource Library will conduct an induction programme for our P1 - P3 students. Through this programme, the student will be familiarised with our school library, the different sections in the library where they can find various storybooks in multi-languages (English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil). There are magazines, CDs and DVDs for them to borrow as well. They will also learn the library etiquette which is very important for the students to follow throughout their Primary years in CHIJ Katong Primary. We also shared with them about the programmes that our MRL offers and acitvities and competitions that they can participate as well! Here are some photos taken during the P2 induction programme early this year.

P5 Reading Ambassador Training
7 - 8 January 2016
The training was conducted in early Jan for 2 days after school by Ms Rafidah from NLB. She conducted them in the library and the cyber lab. On the 1st day, the students learnt how to make props and puppets and making use of it to tell stories. They were able to express themselves very well using these props and through some drama. On the 2nd day, they learnt how to use PowerPoint and animation to tell their stories and doing up a storyline based on the steps guided by Ms Rafidah. The girls were enthusiastic during the training and were very attentive. They felt more confident after the training to speak up more.
